The forest burns, the lemurs die. In Madagascar, 44% of forests disappeared in the last 60 years according to CIRAD. An ecological disaster in a country comprising nearly 90% of unique species in the world. In the absence of livelihoods during confinement, many Malagasy increased the practice of burning culture, coal and illicit wood cutting. Massive and uncontrolled deforestation that accelerates the disappearance of lemurs. Today on 107 species of lemurs, 103 are threatened, of which 1/3 are in imminent danger of extinction.
