Lemurs: From Deforestation to Extinction

The forest burns, the lemurs die. In Madagascar, 44% of forests disappeared in the last 60 years according to CIRAD. An ecological disaster in a country comprising nearly 90% of unique species in the world. In the absence of livelihoods during confinement, many Malagasy increased the practice of burning culture, coal and illicit wood cutting.
